YouTube’s beauty community is massively ever-growing with incredibly talented beauty influencer's, some renowned, some upcoming. They work to make sure subscribers are provided with tutorials, reviews, recommendations and more, thus, making their mark in the beauty industry. They are so many, that it is quite hard to pick a favourite — but here are five beauty YouTube influencers everyone should follow.
#1. Jackie Aina
Jackie Aina is an American born to a black American mother and a Nigerian Father. She is famous for criticizing the beauty industry for poorly representing women of color. With nearly 3 million YouTube subscribers, her makeup skills are impressive and always on point. She gives down-to-earth opinions and product reviews, and calls out beauty brands to include more shade range in their foundation to include all women of colour. She has collaborated with makeup brands like elf Cosmetics, Too Faced Cosmetics, Fenty Beauty, Sephora, Sigma Beauty and others. She has also kicked off on launching her own cosmetic line. In the year 2018, Aina won the NAACP Image Award of the best YouTuber of the year. We love her and thank her for being such a wonderful advocate to beauty enthusiasts.

Alissa Ashley is an American born beauty YouTuber with 1.9 million subscribers. She has a funny and down-to-earth personality. She creates wonderful makeup tutorials for people with hooded eyes, and makes review of high end and drugstore makeup, comparing them both and makes recommendations that are worth while. She believes in girl power and she is not afraid to work with other beauty influencers. As a matter of fact, she collaborated with American actress and singer Zendaya, and another beauty YouTuber Aaliyah Jay, to film makeup tutorials. Her excellent work has caught the attention of international celebs like Rihanna and cosmetic brands the Fenty Beauty Global Artistry Team founded by Rihanna (they both follow her on Instagram).

Nyma Tang is number 1 go-to beauty influencer for anyone with a very dark complexion. This beauty guru from South Sudan, with 1 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, has a series called “The Darkest Shade”, where she put makeup brands' darkest foundation and concealer to test. She takes it upon herself to call out beauty brands to create foundation shade ranges for the darkest skin colour, as a lot of beauty brands do not offer her shade. She also delivers in creating fabulous and glamorous makeup looks. Nyma collaborated with MAC to create her limited edition of a warm red lipstick in matte finish.
#4. Dimma Umeh AKA That Igbo Chick
Dimma Umeh, also known as That Igbo Chick, is our very own beauty influencer born and based in Nigeria. She has made a name for herself in the beauty industry with well over 280, 000 YouTube subscribers on her channel. She shares her lifestyle, travels, hair and beauty tips, makeup tutorials, products reviews and recommendations. Her blog dimmaumeh.com bagged the Best Beauty Blog Awards by popular votes and by Judges choice in 2013. She is a regular feature on popular blogs like Bellanaija, and in big publications like Essence Magazine.

Aysha Begum is a UK based beauty YouTuber, with just over 48000 subscribers. She created her YouTube channel in 2016 and has since been creating bold yet subtle makeup looks. She is famous for her thick eyebrow, matte lips, winged eye line and her hijab (religious hair covering). She does gorgeous tutorials and skincare tips, great reviews on products, and she recommends affordable products.
